MORNING, MID-DAY & MOONLIGHT

Yes, there is a lot to do around the YADKIN VALLEY area.  Hike, fish, ski, hunt, horseback riding, raft, kayak, rock climb, enjoy numerous wineries, festivals, antique hunt, visit Elkin or many other quaint towns in the area.

WINERIES, WINE TOUR

The Yadkin Valley and Swan Creek in North Carolina are home to more than two dozen commercial wine producers. From a downtown storefront to a farm surrounded by llamas, these are as diverse as the people who tend them. And most are producing award-winning vintages and gaining recognition nationally.

These wineries are small, with intimate wine tasting rooms providing more access to the winemakers and owners (often one and the same).

HIKING & SWIMMING

Stone Mountain State Park is 14,000 acres of natural beauty. Waterfalls, mountain streams, 17 miles of trout waters, 21 miles of pristine hiking trails and of course a 600 foot tall dome of granite are what awaits the visitor to the park.

TROUT FISHING

In most of these trout streams and rivers you can catch all three types of trout; like brook trout, rainbow trout, and brown trout. The wild fish tend to be smaller in NC, more so than the stocked ones, but it takes more stealth to catch the wild trout when fly fishing. The stocked trout are easy to catch at first, but harder as the season progresses. Over all fly fishing in the North Carolina mountains is an exceptional trout fishing haven with over 3,000 miles of trout streams open to fishing through out Western NC.
